Services
A.J. Desmond & Sons provides distinctive and meaningful services to meet the personal needs and traditions of each family we serve. There are many ways to honor the memory of a loved one. Visitation may be held before the funeral or memorial service. The service may be held at the funeral home or at a church and may be a simple gathering for close family and friends or a more elaborate mass. Favorite music, family traditions, military honors and other tributes can all be incorporated into the visitation and services. Funeral Services
Though not a complete list of the services A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home provides, the following are several options available:
Visitation - Close family receives relatives and friends before the service, typically with the casket present. This may be one or two days before the service. An evening prayer or scripture service may also be part of the visitation.
Chapel Service - Floral tributes surround the casket of a contemporary or religious chapel ceremony at the funeral home. There may be a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery. Music and readings may be incorporated into the service as desired.
Church Service - A religious service at your church is planned in coordination with your church. There may be a procession from the funeral home to the church and/or a procession from the church to the cemetery.
Graveside Service - A graveside service held at the burial site is often held after a chapel or church service.
Memorial Service - A personalized memorial service with photographs and memorabilia can be held in our funeral home chapel or a location of choice.
Cremation Services
 A.J. Desmond & Sons provides dignified cremation options to meet the personalized desires of families. Though not a complete list of the cremation services A.J. Desmond & Sons provides, the following are several options available:
Visitation - Close family receives relatives and friends before the service. This may be one or two days before the service and/or the day of the service. An evening prayer or scripture service may also be part of the visitation.
Chapel Service - A contemporary or religious ceremony can be scheduled in the funeral home chapel. Cremains may or may not be present. Music may be incorporated into the service as desired.
Church Service - A church memorial celebration can be personalized with special family photographs and memorabilia. Cremains may or may not be present.
Graveside Service - If cremains are to be buried, a gathering at the site of inurnment is one of several options.
Memorial Service- A personalized service with photographs and memorabilia can be held in our funeral home chapel or a location of choice.
